Business description:

An integrated defence and homeland security solutions provider, supplying state of the art products in the Ballistics, Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Forensics, Munitions, Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (SUAS) and Composite materials sectors. We support and sustain these products for our customers with training, maintenance and repair services.

Projects / tasks:

One or more of the following:

  • Ballistic armour plate design, development, and testing
  • Factory hardware Systems Engineering, Design, Procurement, Verification and Validation
  • Composite space structure design and testing
  • CAE Analysis (Excel, MATLAB, FEA, CFD, etc.)
  • Ballistic helmet product and process design
  • Development of electronic hardware or geospatial analysis software to support Unmanned (UxS) capability

Technical skills:

  • Later year student with hands-on, practical approach to problem solving.
  • Honours or other specific project experience in systems engineering and requirement development, mechanical machinery design, composite materials, FEA, CFD, programming, electrical circuit design, and/or ballistics.
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks (inc. PDM/PLM a plus) or other CAD and FEA software packages for hardware projects.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Python/Java/C+ products for software or analytical projects.

Intern interpersonal qualities

  • interest in robotics/unmanned systems/human integration into robotics
  • should have had extracurricular activity in school teams/projects such as solar car, FSAE, rocketry, etc
  • 1-3 years previous work history (no preference on type – just needs to have interacted with society on a professional level at some stage)
