Projects / tasks

The intern would participate in engineering development opportunities for key division projects and programs.

Technical skills

Systems Engineering – Full ASDEFCON engineering lifecycle management.

Electronic Engineering – High and Low Level Product Development

Software Engineering – GUI development and Underwater Acoustic Processing.

The company has a focus on generating products of the highest quality standard, both in terms of hardware and software. Advanced Navigation has specialised expertise across a broad range of fields including sensors, GNSS, inertial navigation, RF technologies, acoustics, robotics, AI and algorithms.

Projects / tasks:

The intern could be involved in one or two of our R&D projects, depending on their knowledge and capability. Our current R&D projects are all focused on the development of inertial navigation hardware and software. Also to be involved in a Continuous Improvement program, aimed at taking cost out of the business

Technical skills:

Mechatronic, Electrical or Embedded Software Engineering skills. The Embedded Software Engineer will have algorithm development or control system experience.

Intern interpersonal qualities:

Enthusiastic about technology, able to multitask effectively, able to self-manage time and scope, able to manage upwards (knowing when to ask for help and when to knuckle down). Our ideal intern will be interested in navigation technology, automation and robotics.
