Experience with simulation software or image processing is a positive but not requirement.

Intern interpersonal qualities:

Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering Intern. Preferably in their 3rd or 4th year and willing to get involved in a flexible role that may involve a range of disciplines including mechanical, electrical and software engineering.

  1. Non-destructive testing;
  2. Inorganic corrosion protection and surface treatment;
  3. Organic corrosion protection and surface finishing – Painting
  4. Monitor, analysis and maintenance of the special processing line.

  1. Design of tooling, fixtures, masking aides and jigs.
  2. Establishing and maintaining ERP data and routings.
  3. Support of the facility through machine and chemical solution maintenance.
  4. Procurement of technical materials and resources.

Technical skills:

These include but are not limited to; metallic and composite components (carbon fiber etc.), aerodynamic design, energetics (propellant), guidance systems (mechanisms and technology to guide a rocket), ground station (tracking/communications/control/monitoring etc.) and aerothermodynamics.

Projects / tasks:

Interns will have the opportunity to participate in projects across the variety of engineering specialties around the design/manufacture of all components of a launch vehicle (rocket) system.
These include but are not limited to; metallic and composite components (carbon fiber etc), aerodynamic design, energetics (propellant), guidance systems (mechanisms and technology to guide a rocket), ground station (tracking/communications/control/monitoring etc) and aerothermodynamics.
