Defence Industry Information
Industry Host Eligibility
To be eligible to host a DIIP Intern, an organisation must:
- be a registered business with an ABN
- be a small or medium sized enterprise operating in the Australian Defence Industry that employs less than 200 employees
- not be, or be likely to become: bankrupt or insolvent, or subject to any form of external administration
- be undertaking work directly for Defence, as a subcontractor to a prime contractor engaged by Defence or within the Defence supply chain
- have valid workers' compensation insurance which provides cover for the Intern and any other insurance which would be held by a prudent business of the same size and in the same field as the SME and which would protect the Intern from personal liability for work performed by the Intern (e.g. professional indemnity)
- be willing to provide feedback to The Career Network regarding the progress of the Intern, and their perception of the success of the DIIP
- be able to provide access to The Career Network to facilitate site visits during the Internship
- have a commitment to improving diversity and within the Defence industry
